Experience the Best in Nepal
The historical monuments and temples at the three palace complexes of Bhaktapur, Patan, and Kathmandu, and the religious sites at Pashupati, Swayambhu, and Boudhanath are a testament of Nepal’s culture that is rooted in its ancient tradition and religion. Besides this, Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is also a UNESCO cultural heritage site.
Nepal is equally blessed with biodiversity and is also referred to as the Amazon of South Asia. Two of the National parks in Nepal, the Sagarmatha National Park, and Chitwan National Park, are recognized as UNESCO Natural Heritage Sites. The southern plains are home to the greater one-horned rhino, royal Bengal tiger, and the elusive snow leopard in the mountain areas. Flora and fauna are equally diverse.
National parks located in the southern parts, the Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park, Parsa Wildlife Reserve, and Shuklaphanta National Parks, are home to some of the most beautiful wildlife in the world including the one-horned rhino, royal Bengal triggers, crocodiles, and bird species. Koshi Tappu in Eastern Nepal is a bird watcher’s paradise, with more than 800 species of birds. Some of the birds migrate from Siberia and the UK during the winter season.
Khaptad National Park in the Far-west has some of the most stunning trekking trails with rolling hills and breathtaking pastoral landscapes. While the national parks at Sagarmatha, Annapurna, Langatang, Makalu Barun, Kanchenjunga, Rara and Shey Phoksundo are a trekkers paradise. However, the best part of the trek, besides the high altitude of over 3000m, is the landscape. The landscapes change from lush green pastures, snow-covered basecamps, and lofty views of the mountain along the route.
These mountains are also home to the Himalayan tahr and musk deer, besides the Danphe, the national bird of Nepal.
