Overview: Langtang Valley is the perfect destination for those who are looking for a relatively easy route with shorter walks and lower altitudes. Close to Kathmandu, this short trek offers adventurers the opportunity to enjoy the vibrant ecosystem of the Himalayas. The route will take us through quaint villages, terraced farms, and forests along the hills with the majestic Himalayan ranges in the backdrop.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
At your arrival time at the airport in Kathmandu, a nature horizons team member will be waiting to greet you. We will transfer right to your hotel accommodation for the first night. Once you arrive at the hotel, you will meet your guide and get a briefing on your entire tour. The rest of the day is yours to relax and explore around Kathmandu. It is a magical city.

Day 2: Trek preparation and cultural tour
Today you will have a 2nd briefing about the trek during breakfast, and after breakfast, you will be taken for a cultural tour around Kathmandu. Once we finish our Kathmandu tour, we will do a complete gear check to ensure you have brought with you all the necessary equipment and gear for your trek. If there are any missing items, we will head out to Kathmandu to buy them, so you are prepared for your tour. It is now time to relax; your trek starts tomorrow.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): 7-8 hours
We drive towards Syabrubesi in the morning, the starting point of our trek.The winding road to Syabrubesi is not a smooth ride, but it is still enjoyable. On a clear day, the route offers a spectacular view of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal.

Day 4: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 6 hours
Following the Langtang River, we slowly ascend and descend the route that takes us through a thick forest of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. Keep a lookout for local wildlife in the area, such as the wild-throated martens and langurs. These forests are also home to wild boars, red pandas, and the Himalayan Black Bear. Upon crossing the suspension bridge over Langtang River, we’ll steadily climb the steep trail that leads us towards Lama Hotel.

Day 5: Lamahotel to Langtang village
Right after breakfast, we’ll continue towards Langtang Village. Today’s route will take us through the scenic mountain landscape, waterfalls, and meadows. After crossing the bridge at the Langtang River, the trail leads to the valley. From here, the trail descends downwards. We’ll pass through small settlements, several water mills, prayer wheels, and a Buddhist monastery before reaching Langtang village.

Day 6: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa
We start early to head towards Kyangin Gompa, one of the important monasteries of the region. The route passes through several watermills, stones painted with Tibetan Mantras, prayer wheels, mani walls, and sacred mounds of rocks with Buddhist inscriptions. As we near Kyangin Gompa, the splendid view of Mount Ghanchepo (6,387 m) and Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) becomes clear.

Day 7: Acclimatization- Explore Tserko Ri (5000m/16,404ft) 7-8 hours
To acclimatize, we’ll head towards Tserko Ri, which is located at a high altitude. The trail first passes through yak pastures before it steadily ascends towards Tserko Ri. The high vantage point at Tserko Ri is a great location to view the sunrise. After spending some time at Tserko Ri, we head down to Kyangin Gompa.

Day 8: Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel: 6-7 hours
Turn around to see the Kyangin Gompa one last time before we head downhill. Retracing our steps back to Lama Hotel, we will walk at a leisurely pace. The route will take us through forest and rustic villages, which are inhabited by the Tamang people.

Day 9: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi: 4-5 hours
We’ll retrace our steps towards Syabrubesi. While you head towards Syabrubesi, enjoy the walk through the forest, villages, and the picturesque views of the mountains.

Day 10: Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu Drive
The drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu is enjoyable, with scenic views of the hills and mountains. Drive back, reminiscing about the trek and the majestic mountains.

Wake up and prepare to get on your flight home! Your guide will be with you up until we drop you off at the airport. End Tour
