Welcome to Zanzibar! We are sure you have earned our trip to this magical island! With five nights on this piece of paradise, you can choose to do not much more than soak up the relaxation you deserve. Marvel at the soft lapping of the waves, as the beautiful clear waters of the Indian Ocean meet the perfect white sands of Zanzibar. Add in an introduction to historic, atmospheric Stone Town and your perfect stay is complete.
Whatever you have been doing before you arrive in Zanzibar, you will surely appreciate the relaxed ambience of this ‘Spice Island.’ With its sparkling sand and shimmering sea, it could have been designed by experts to be the ideal getaway. First of all, you’ll soak up the ambience of characterful Stone Town, the island capital with its narrow streets and patchwork of architectural styles. After your two-night stay here, we will transfer you to your chosen beach hotel for three nights, where the chance to ‘chill out’ really begins.

Day 1: Arrival Day
Welcome to Zanzibar! On arrival at Zanzibar’s Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, you will be met by our driver guide who will take you on the short, 20-minute transfer to your hotel in Stone Town, the historic quarter of Zanzibar City. You can choose to swim in the stunning infinity pool, with views over the Indian Ocean, enjoy the spa (at extra cost), work out in the fitness room or simply kick back on a sun lounger and soak up the rays. When it comes to dining, the hotel’s Zamani Residence concept truly excels, composed of a variety of terraced restaurants drawing on influences from Indian, Arabic and continental cuisine, as well as offering fish caught locally.
Day 2 – Stone Town Tour – Beach Hotel
This morning you will enjoy breakfast at your hotel, before meeting our expert local guide for a tour of fascinating Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Over the centuries, many cultures have left their impressions on Zanzibar and it is perhaps in Stone Town where you can most easily see their influences. Your guide will lead you first to the colourful market, awash with exotic smells and buzzing with bartering locals. Afterwards, you will visit the calm of the 19th C cathedral, built on the former site of the slave market after the 1873 abolition of slavery.
As you wander the narrow streets and alleys, you’ll pass the Arab houses with their inner courtyards, hidden behind heavy doors. You can compare their style with the Indian residences, adorned with balustrades and metal railings. Amongst the town’s historic sites are the ‘Tip Tip House,’ the Old Fort and the People’s Palace Museum. Lunch will be taken at the Silk Route Indian rooftop restaurant, with views to the ocean. The Silk Route is full of character, so enjoy the excellent cuisine, perhaps washing it down with a cocktail. In the evening, you will be guided back to your Stone Town hotel for dinner and an evening at leisure.
Day 3 – Beach Hotel
After breakfast, you can enjoy the morning at leisure. Your Stone Town hotel will provide you with an early lunch, before we transfer you to your chosen beach hotel for the next part of your stay in exotic, enticing Zanzibar. After the delightful chaos of Stone Town, it’s now time to relax and enjoy some real downtime.
Day 4 – Beach Hotel
Today is a second full day for you to relax at your oceanside hotel, have a gentle swim in the sea or to enjoy the more active facilities on offer. Or, of course, you can set out to explore a little bit more of this beautiful island. The reception staff at your hotel will be happy to help arrange any activity or excursion that takes your interest.
Day 5 – Beach Hotel – Abeid Amani Karume International Airport
Today is a second full day for you to relax at your Oceanside hotel, have a gentle swim in the sea or to enjoy the more active facilities on offer. Or, of course, you can set out to explore a little bit more of this beautiful island. Better than 5*s!!!Mary D2025-02-11Fantastic Safari My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the safari that we took thru Nature Horizons Tours in Tanzania last month. It truly was a trip of a life time. We saw lots of animals and birds throughout Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. To see 20 elephants (including babies) casually stroll by us was an experience I will never forget. Another time, we saw two herds of zebras that must have totaled 20,000 zebras. WOW! Our guide, Praygod was great and we really enjoyed spending time with him. He was great at identifying animals and provided lots of the environmental, historical and cultural information. I recommend bringing a notebook to write down all the animals you will see.One advantage we had with Natures Horizon compared to other Safari companies is that there are only four people in a jeep during the safari (well, plus the driver). This was really nice being able to easily see animals on both sides of the jeep without stepping over people. We saw a lot of jeeps that had 6 people in them.Everyone associated with Nature Horizons Tours and the lodges we stayed at went out of their way to make our stay/experience fantastic. We learned that if there was something that we wanted, we just had to ask. At the Kilimanjaro Lux Camp, Grace personally made avocado toast for us each morning. I am writing this review as a Travel Agent. My clients just returned from their safari with Nature Horizons. From the time they booked, Dominick was in close contact with both me and my clients. He made sure that all of our questions or concerns were handled very quickly. He took the time to do zoom calls with me and my clients more than once to make sure that they were comfortable with everything to do with the trip. While there were a couple of things lost in translation with his team in Tanzania, they were minor and were dealt with immediately. The driver/guide is the absolute best. The lodging, while not close to town, was all very nice with fabulous food. The balloon ride is not to be missed! One of the things that I appreciate the most is that Dominick will not take more than 4 people in a vehicle, even though more can fit. He wants every passenger to have the best view, no matter which side of the vehicle has the views of the wildlife.
