Overview

From the towering dunes of Sossusvlei to the windswept shores of the Skeleton Coast, the journey reveals Namibia’s striking natural diversity. Travelers walk among immense desert dunes, explore the meeting point of ocean and sand in Walvis Bay and venture into remote wilderness areas where desert-adapted elephants roam freely.

The experience continues into the far northwest at Purros Conservancy, one of Namibia’s most untouched regions, where encounters with Himba communities provide meaningful cultural insight into one of the country’s last nomadic tribes.

Day 01

Your journey begins in Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, a city where German colonial heritage blends with modern African culture. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your lodge located outside the city. In the late afternoon, enjoy a sunset safari drive through the surrounding landscapes. As the sun lowers across the savanna, wildlife sightings often accompany the shifting colors of the horizon. The evening concludes with a welcome cocktail and dinner at the lodge.

This morning the journey continues by charter flight to Sossusvlei, one of the most iconic desert landscapes on Earth. From the air, the immense expanse of the Namib Desert unfolds in sweeping tones of red and gold. Upon arrival, transfer overland to your luxury camp located within a private concession of the NamibRand Nature Reserve. After lunch, set out on a scenic drive through the reserve, observing desert-adapted plants and wildlife while learning about the conservation efforts protecting this fragile ecosystem.

SOSSUSVLEI DUNES EXPERIENCE

Today is dedicated to exploring the extraordinary landscapes of Sossusvlei. This vast salt-and-clay pan is surrounded by towering dunes whose burnt orange colors contrast dramatically with the deep blue desert sky. Guests have the opportunity to climb Big Daddy, the tallest dune in the region, offering spectacular views across the desert. After the morning exploration, return to the lodge where the afternoon remains free to relax or enjoy optional activities such as nature walks or quad biking.

Rise early for a final morning in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Guests may choose between a guided nature walk, an ATV trail ride or a scenic drive through the reserve. Later, board a charter flight to the coastal town of Swakopmund. Once a German colonial enclave, Swakopmund retains its historic architecture, seaside promenades and distinctive cultural character. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and enjoy lunch before spending the afternoon at leisure. Dinner this evening takes place at a local restaurant.

WALVIS BAY

Today begins with a short journey to Walvis Bay, where the Namib Desert dramatically meets the Atlantic Ocean. Embark on a private marine cruise across the bay while searching for dolphins, seals, pelicans and seasonal whales. After returning to shore, enjoy a chef-led culinary experience featuring a traditional beachside barbecue. The afternoon continues with a 4x4 excursion into the dunes of Sandwich Harbour, one of Namibia’s most remarkable coastal landscapes where towering dunes descend directly into the ocean. Later, return to Swakopmund for an evening at leisure.

SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

Continue exploring the park through morning and afternoon safari activities. Depending on conditions, the day may include a walking safari, offering a ground level perspective on animal tracks, vegetation, and ecosystem dynamics. As night falls, the opportunity for nocturnal game viewing introduces a different rhythm, revealing species and behaviors unique to the evening hours.

Begin the day with a scenic drive through the rugged landscapes surrounding Purros Conservancy, keeping watch for rare desert-adapted elephants and unique desert flora. Later, visit a local village and, when in session, a nearby primary school supported through conservation initiatives. In the afternoon, meet members of the Himba community, one of Namibia’s last nomadic tribes. This authentic cultural encounter offers insight into their traditions, beliefs and daily life.

ONGUMA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

Today depart by private charter flight for Onguma Private Game Reserve, an 84,000-acre wildlife area bordering Etosha National Park. After settling into your tented camp, depart on an afternoon game drive within the reserve. The area supports diverse wildlife including lions, rhinos, elephants, giraffes and numerous bird species.

ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK SAFARI

Today’s exploration continues with a guided morning game drive into Etosha National Park. The park’s landscapes range from grasslands to vast salt pans and attract a wide variety of wildlife and birdlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax beside the infinity-edge pool. In the late afternoon, depart again for a sunset game drive within the reserve, where sightings may include cheetahs, gemsbok or flocks of flamingos. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner.

ONGUMA TO WINDHOEK

Your final morning offers the opportunity to choose between a game drive or a guided bush walk through the private reserve, focusing on animal tracks and smaller wildlife often missed during traditional safaris. After lunch, fly by charter aircraft back to Windhoek and transfer to your hotel. The evening is free to relax.
