The journey begins in Uyuni, where the landscape quickly transitions from town to open desert. An initial visit to the historic train cemetery offers insight into the region’s industrial past before continuing toward the immense expanse of the Salar de Uyuni. Crossing the salt flat reveals traditional salt extraction areas and natural formations that emerge from the white horizon. A visit to Incahuasi Island introduces towering giant cacti rising from ancient coral formations, offering a striking contrast against the surrounding salt desert. Time is reserved for perspective photography and quiet exploration before the day concludes with sunset views across the flats, where light and reflection transform the landscape.

Today continues deeper into the salt flat and its surrounding highlands. Traveling across the white expanse toward the foothills of the Thunupa Volcano, the scenery gradually shifts to reveal ancient settlements that once adapted to life along the salt desert. In the village of Coquesa, traces of early civilizations emerge through archaeological remains and burial sites, offering a rare glimpse into the human history of the Altiplano. From this elevated vantage point, panoramic views of the Salar stretch endlessly in every direction, reinforcing the scale and isolation of the region.
