Day 01

Arrive in Marrakech and make your way to your riad-style accommodation located within the historic medina. In the afternoon, meet your guide and fellow travelers for a welcome introduction to the journey. Begin with a traditional Moroccan cooking demonstration centered around tanjia, one of Marrakech’s most iconic dishes. Learn about the history and preparation of this slow-cooked specialty before selecting ingredients in the medina markets. The dish is prepared in a clay vessel and taken to a traditional communal oven where it will slowly cook overnight. Later, stroll through the vibrant food stalls of the medina, discovering the spices, herbs and ingredients that shape Moroccan cuisine. The evening concludes with traditional mint tea served on a rooftop terrace overlooking the lively square of Jemaa el-Fna.

MARRAKECH MEDINA & CULINARY TRADITIONS

This morning, set out on a guided exploration of Marrakech’s historic medina. Visit the elegant Jardin Secret, a restored palace garden that reveals traditional Islamic landscape design. Continue to the magnificent Bahia Palace, one of the finest architectural masterpieces of 19th-century Morocco. The tour concludes at a local bakery where guests receive a brief introduction to Moroccan bread-making traditions and sample freshly baked bread. Later, return to the riad and collect the tanjia prepared the previous day. Enjoy your homemade dish for lunch on the terrace. The remainder of the afternoon and evening are free to explore Marrakech at your own pace. Guests may wish to visit the vibrant Jardin Majorelle, wander the souks, or return to the bustling markets of the medina.

Today journey beyond Marrakech into the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Travel by private vehicle to the Ouzoud Waterfalls, among the highest waterfalls in North Africa. Cascading over 100 meters into a lush gorge below, the falls create a striking contrast with the surrounding landscapes. Walk along the paths leading to the top of the falls and take in panoramic views of the dramatic scenery. After lunch near the waterfalls, return to Marrakech in the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy dinner in the lively surroundings of Jemaa el-Fna square, where musicians, storytellers and food vendors animate the city after sunset.

DEPART MARRAKECH

After breakfast, the journey concludes. Guests may depart at any time or choose to extend their stay in Marrakech. For those wishing to begin the day with a unique experience, an optional sunrise hot air balloon flight offers sweeping views over the desert plains and palm groves surrounding the city.
